The World Health Organization declared 2020 the International Year of the Nurse & Midwife. This year, we’re honoring the 200th anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale.
At the same time, ANA just launched anayearofthenurse.org and you’re invited to the celebration. It’s all about engaging with nurses, thought leaders and consumers to promote nursing excellence, infuse leadership and nurture innovation.
As a nurse today you should be all over that, right? But how, exactly, to do it? How can you, in your everyday work with your team, celebrate the Year of the Nurse?
A great place to start is with the free Resource Toolkit at the new website. You and your organization have lots of opportunities to mark the occasion throughout the year. In this toolkit you’ll find useful, customizable downloads like Thank You Cards, Certificates, templates for emails, letterhead, PowerPoint presentations, and ads. Plus, there are logos, Facebook frames, display banners and more. Articles and downloadable files make it easy to create consistent, celebratory messages and support events and activities.
Also on the site is an entire year’s worth of ideas for you to celebrate and elevate nursing, and help you and your peers excel, lead and innovate:
- Free webinars
- Professional development opportunities
- Personal health challenges
- Pitch competitions and hackathons
- Leadership ideas
- Media relations
